Bodnant Gardens inspired Waterlilies
•Posted on November 18 2023

During a beautiful walk around Bodnant Gardens, North Wales, Summer 2023 Kristina with her Daughter and Grandson, they arrived at Pin Mill pond. Amazed by the beautiful colours of the waterlilies and leaves, Kristina took photographs for her next project.
An artist is never away from their work, seeing beauty all around.
What makes Waterlilies so appealing? Their large, round leaves float gracefully on the water's surface, while their vibrant flowers bloom in an array of colours, including shades of pink, purple, white, and yellow. But what makes them so visually appealing?
The secret lies in the pigments present in their petals. Waterlilies contain pigments called anthocyanins, which are responsible for their stunning hues. These pigments absorb light in the visible spectrum and reflect specific wavelengths, giving rise to the vibrant colours we see. Nature is so beautiful and amazing!
